Cocoa Beach
You find yourself driving away from your hometown of gossip and backstabbing girls who want nothing but your boyfriend. You leave your hometown of boys who want nothing but a superficial girlfriend who only looks good naked. You arrive at Cocoa Beach, Florida, where it is quiet and it has a calming serene appeal. You decide to give it a chance, to spend the night to get away from the drama. But as you stay and learn more about the seemingly harmless beach, you feel intrigued.
You learn from a local that this place is a collection of pasts, most of them dark and saddistic. People who reside at this area lead nothing but troubled lives, and carry the weight of the world on thier shoulder everyday. It has become a place for refugees of horrendous stories stored away in a dark place in their memory. The people who reside here want nothing but to start anew, find ways to end the depressing sadness that has found it's way into their hearts.
The people are friendly, but some suffer from mental complexs that can not be yet explained or are just too much for them to deal with that they are in disbelief that they have a problem. After all, they were rejected from their society, and fled here to escape the wrong-doings of society.
Even if a normal person comes to Cocoa Beach, in no less than two weeks, they have more problems in their life then they had ever had combined. They learn about the secrets of the beach, why it is calming and why everyone with a past flees to it.
The truth is...
At Cocoa Beach High School, the teachers do not teach school subjects, but a new medical product that can help those forget their fears and their past. With a simple shot that can be taken every four hours, a teenager has a chance to be normal again, to lose the past that they have horned for many years. They can face their fears with one simple drug that they can carry around in their pocket or their purse.
And once one turns the age of seventeen, one can choose to have the past removed forever with a simple surgery. One can loose the memory forever, to begin as a brand new person, and that is the difference between the ones who decide to undergo the surgery, and those who don't. They are classified as Normies and the Haunted.
But the sugery isn't always the best option. There have been some complications such as memory loss forever and loss of the senses. Some cases even ended with paralysis of body parts. The scientists of Cocoa Beach have come no where near to perfecting the surgery and it's outcome. The shot isn't always for the best either. As the surgery, it can cause one to loose one of their senses for the four hours, or even their short-term memory.
The past makes you who you are, but is that who you want to be?
Welcome to Cocoa Beach
